Frequently Asked Questions

Is COMPS free for athletes?

Yes. Athletes are always free — the account, your stats, your national ranking, and your digital COMPS player card. The only optional purchase is a one-time $2.99 upgrade to add your card to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet and unlock premium card themes.

How do I get a COMPS player card?

Create a free COMPS account and add your performance data, or attend a session at a COMPS-partnered academy or camp where data is captured for you. Once your profile has data, your player card generates automatically and is shareable via a public link.

What metrics are on my COMPS player card?

Pitchers show pitch velocity and spin rate. Hitters and position players show exit velocity. All athletes can show sprint speed, height, wingspan, and wingspan-to-height ratio — each with a national percentile tier that places you against the full COMPS athlete pool.

How do my stats compare nationally?

Every metric on your COMPS profile includes a national percentile ranking within your sport and age group. For example, "Top 15% nationally" means your number beats 85% of tracked athletes in your group. COMPS uses percentile tiers and rankings — never letter grades.

Can college coaches find me on COMPS?

Yes. Coaches and scouts use COMPS to discover athletes by sport, position, grad year, state, and performance metrics. If your profile is set to leaderboard-visible, you appear in public rankings and recruiting search. You can also share your player card link directly with any coach.

Can I add my player card to my phone wallet?

Yes. COMPS supports both Apple Wallet and Google Wallet passes, and your card updates live — when you post a new career best, the card in your wallet refreshes automatically.

What sports can I join with?

Baseball and softball have full verified data today. Basketball, football, soccer, volleyball, and track athletes can already register profiles as those sports expand.

Is my personal information protected?

Yes. Public COMPS pages show first name and last initial only — never your full last name, email, phone, or guardian contact information. You control leaderboard visibility from your profile settings.
